Food-as-medicine chefs Food-as-medicine chefs are fully qualified chefs, who also hold a certificate in plant based nutrition. They show people how to eat and cook using the principles of whole-food, plant-based eating.
Food-as-medicine chefs specialise in cooking and preparing food based on the principles of a whole-food, plant-based way of eating. They have recognised chef qualifications and plant based nutrition qualifications from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. Our recommended chefs have mostly become food-as-medicine chefs by personally experiencing the healing power of food-as- medicine to recover from their own health crises, such as heart attacks. Changing from the typical western diet that caused type 2 diabetes to a food-as-medicine way of eating capable of reversing it, can mean learning a whole new set of food preparation and cooking skills. The learning curve can be steep and frustrating at times. Our food-as-medicine chefs provide coaching services ranging from one on one coaching to low cost, group based, online coaching.
