Food-as-medicine chefs Food-as-medicine chefs are fully qualified chefs, who also hold a certificate in plant based nutrition. They show people how to eat and cook using the principles of whole-food, plant-based eating.
Food-as-medicine chefs specialise in cooking and preparing food based on the principles of a whole-food, plant-based way of eating. They have recognised chef qualifications and plant based nutrition qualifications from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. Our recommended chefs have mostly become food-as-medicine chefs by personally experiencing the healing power of food-as-medicine to recover from their own health crises, such as heart attacks. Changing from the typical western diet that caused type 2 diabetes to a food-as-medicine way of eating capable of reversing it, can mean learning a whole new set of food preparation and cooking skills. The learning curve can be steep and frustrating at times. Our food-as-medicine chefs provide coaching services ranging from one on one coaching to low cost, group based, online coaching. Having access to expert chefs who understand the principles of food-as- medicine can make that learning curve much shorter and much less frustrating.
Caution This program is very effective at reducing your weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar level. Please consult with your treating doctor before changing your diet and do not start, stop, or change medication without professional medical advice. This website is not intended to take the place of personalised medical care or treatment and must not be taken as medical advice.
Refund Policy We will refund all coaching fees if a client does not achieve improvement in their type 2 diabetes as measured by the 3 diabetes blood tests, provided the agreed coaching program is followed and is verified.
Disclaimer & Results To meet our definition of genuine type 2 diabetes reversal, a number of criteria must be met to achieve non- diabetic range blood sugar levels. These include; (a) not requiring any diabetes medications or insulin to be taken. (b) achieving normal range blood sugar levels as measured by 3 blood tests; HbA1c test, the 2 hour glucose tolerance test (GTT) and a fasting blood sugar test. It is only possible to reverse type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes and type 1.5 (LADA) diabetes cannot be reversed and will always require insulin. A small proportion of type 2 diabetes cannot be reversed when insulin production has become insufficient. Results achieved can vary between individuals and depend on many factors, such as degree of compliance with a coaching program, pre-existing conditions, severity of existing conditions and the rate a coaching program is implemented.
