It incorporates a wellness coaching model, where you co-develop with your wellness coach, a plan of action that addresses ALL the factors that may have contributed to you developing diabetes. We especially acknowledge the role of psychological/stress issues and your social and physical environment We provide a one-stop shop to access all the health professionals you will need, linked by your wellness coach. Reverse Diabetes can guide you and support you to make the lifestyle changes so you can be free of medications and diabetes, ideally within a few months. OUR FOUR COMPONENT PROGRAM TO REVERSE YOUR DIABETES We don’t believe in ‘one size fits all’ programs. Each person and their situation is unique. We will create a personalised plan to suit your circumstances, built from the following four components. 1. Good Nutrition You can reverse your diabetes and eliminate medications if you change your diet permanently to a scientifically proven, food-as-medicine way of eating that we will show you. To achieve results, you will need to commit to making the change for the long term. Eating should be an enjoyable, pleasurable experience, so we focus on developing a variety of meal plans that are tasty, visually pleasing, easy to prepare and nutritious. The nutrition plan may start with predominantly low G.I. foods to stabilise your blood glucose levels, introducing other foods once insulin resistance has reduced. Together, you and your wellness coach create a plan to reverse your diabetes. 1. Consultation & Assessment: The very first task is confirm whether you were correctly diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes. Research shows up to 1 in 10 people in Australia are misdiagnosed with type 2 and actually have type 1 or type 1.5, which are not reversible (but are very improvable with our approach). Your wellness coach’s next task is to fully understand your unique situation and create the reversal plan brief. Your coach will carry out a comprehensive assessment of your health history, learn about past and current medications, medical conditions, allergies, test results, long term dietary and exercise habits and obtain a recent dietary and blood glucose level history. We may also gather information about life stresses and any stress responses, such as emotional eating. Gaining this deep understanding of your personal situation and creating a detailed plan brief at the start of the process enables your coach to create an achievable reversal plan. 2.
