Disclaimer & Results To meet our definition of genuine type 2 diabetes reversal, a number of criteria must be met to achieve non- diabetic range blood sugar levels. These include; (a) not requiring any diabetes medications or insulin to be taken. (b) achieving normal range blood sugar levels as measured by 3 blood tests; HbA1c test, the 2 hour glucose tolerance test (GTT) and a fasting blood sugar test. It is only possible to reverse type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes and type 1.5 (LADA) diabetes cannot be reversed and will always require insulin. A small proportion of type 2 diabetes cannot be reversed when insulin production has become insufficient. Results achieved can vary between individuals and depend on many factors, such as degree of compliance with a coaching program, pre-existing conditions, severity of existing conditions and the rate a coaching program is implemented.
Type 2 diabetes is a totally preventable and mostly reversible ‘lifestyle disease’.
Why diabetes reversal should always be the first treatment goal Diabetes is becoming the global health epidemic of the 21st century, and is so often part of a vicious circle of cardiovascular disease and obesity. In 2014, 9.4% of the population in the state of NSW, Australia, had diabetes or high blood glucose; 50% higher than the rates in 2002. Western Sydney has become a diabetes ‘hotspot’, with 60% of the population overweight and deemed at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The causes of diabetes Diabetes is a lifestyle disease; psychosocial factors like stress, inactivity, social isolation and a lack of a sense of community are contributing risk factors that drive or combine with the major risk factor - diet Overwhelming scientific evidence now shows that in individuals with a genetic predisposition, type 2 diabetes is caused by consuming a diet rich in saturated fat with too many empty calories.

IT’S THE FAT - not the sugar or carbs!

The correlation between obesity and diabetes is so strong, that the word ‘diabesity’ has come into use to describe the epidemic.
